Government assault on judicial review threatens access to justice


Ever since it came to power, the coalition government has mounted a sustained onslaught on British citizens’ access to justice. The first assault was legislation that more than halved public funding for legal advice on issues that affect the poorest in society such as debt management and housing. The second was an attack on employee rights and the introduction of fees for employment tribunals. Now, the government is proposing greatly to restrict your right to apply for judicial review
